The Lilly Agenda

I've been a huge fan of the Lilly Pulitzer agendas for all of my high school career. I opt for the jumbo sized agenda each year because it fits in so nicely with the rest of my books and binders in my backpack. I find that it's the easiest to just slip it in the laptop sleeve in the back of my backpack!

I use a monogram decal on the front of my planner each year. This year I used the cutest monogrammed anchor I found on Etsy!

I really like to take full advantage of my planner, so I use every bit of it that I can. On the page with the pocket, I type up and tape down my class list and I cut out the bell rotation schedule from the back of one of the free planners our school gives us (which are completely awful) and keep it in the pocket. I keep random notes, standardized test tickets, info from college meetings, and other odds and ends in that front pocket as well.

On the month calendar pages, I write any long term projects, trips I'm taking, exam dates, or any other important dates so I can see them all at once and plan out my work accordingly.

Weekly, I write out the subjects that I have for each day and the corresponding work due for that class. I make boxes next to each day so I can check off the boxes as I complete things, because really who doesn't like checking things off a list? Also, to make it easier to find the page I'm on, I have a ruler/page marker that snaps into the spiral of the agenda.

The Lilly agendas for next year are in the cutest patterns! I've already pre-ordered my jumbo planner in Tusk In the Sun ($34) and a white monogrammed decal off of Etsy for the cover ($4)

What's your favorite pattern for this year's agendas?

Seniorness

Well our seniors are officially graduated, and that means I have approximately 3 months to find a dress for my own graduation next year! At my school all of the boys for graduation wear white dinner  jackets with black tuxedo pants and the girls all wear white floor length dresses that have to have straps. The one problem with that being that pure white and most ivory dresses are really only in season from memorial day to labor day, so the countdown is on! Some of the current front runners for me are

The Kimichi Dove Crinkle Gauze Maxi from Urban Outfitters

The Lovers + Friends Athena dress from Revolve Clothing

And the Julie Embroidered Maxi Dress from Club Monaco

I love the graduation ceremony at my school, but finding a dress is far more difficult than I imagined! Any suggestions for places to find dresses?

Playlist No. 4

I've really been loving fun, upbeat songs for the summertime. Here are just a few of my favorites that I've been playing on repeat!

The Four Week Sprint

This is it. We're in the final stretch of my junior year and the end is so near I think I can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel, from behind my mountain of standardized test review books. Tomorrow morning I'm taking the SAT for the second and possibly last time, depending on how my scores are, because my first round yielded scores that were honestly above what I expected. On friday I begin with the AP english language exam and immediately following that I go straight to an overnight crew regatta in northern Virginia. The next wednesday I take my second and last AP exam of the year in US history and am using that weekend to tie up loose ends on my final project for my American lit class, which is due the next monday, and the following week marks the start of our final exams, followed by an ACT that weekend. *deep breath*

This year has absolutely flown by. I don't know how I'm feeling but I think it's caught somewhere between happy tears and panic attack. My life just feels like it's moving 90 miles per hour and accelerating, hurdling me towards senior year faster than I want it to. We've already started work on my senior yearbook and in nine days the seniors will be done with their school year so we'll move into all of their spaces. I'm looking forward to the chaos that is senior year but I also am so terrified to leave my school. It's been my home for 11 years and knowing that after the next one I won't be returning leaves me with a haunting feeling of uncertainty that quite frankly I am NOT okay with. This little girl isn't quite ready to grow up just yet.

Looking back on this year, so much has changed and I've grown so much as a person. I never imagined that I would end my junior year this way, but I've become so strong that I'm also starting to realize that college is something that I might be able to tackle.

Life moves so fast, and I don't want to sprint to the end of the year but it's what I have to do in order to not drown in everything that's going on. I just have to charge through it.

On your mark... get set... go.

Aux Champs Elysée

I've fallen in love with Paris all over again. My host family is the sweetest thing ever and being able to speak the language has made my time in the city all the more enjoyable. I don't really want to recap what I've done every day so I thought I would just share some pictures here with y'all

A french friend of mine found me at school yesterday! it was great catching up with her again at lunch.

Ça Va?

The first few days of this trip have been busy, hilarious, crazy, and exhausting to say the least, but I've loved every second of it, except maybe the struggle to find wifi. From dance parties in a hostel to the reverence of the american military cemetery in Normandy, I've been so filled with joy and excitement... I have a gypsy's soul and was made to travel, that I am absolutely sure of. I've settled into my home (the entire floor of an apartment building) with the most amazing host family in paris and I could not be happier. They had croissants and other pastries waiting on my bed for me when I got here! I love them already and I cannot wait to spend two weeks with them. So here's to the year of adventure, France, et à votre santé!
